Company Profile

The company was founded in 1980 by John Poole as Poole Engineering Products (Pty) Ltd, with two principle agencies. These agencies are still held today and are Anderson electrical connectors (USA) and Elfab bursting discs and explosion panels (UK).

In 1986  the company  acquired the  Starrett  Tools and  Blading  agency and the  name was changed  to Alexander and  Poole to  recognise a  partnership with  Fraser Alexander, previously Managing Director of Starrett  South Africa. In 1997 Alexander left the company and in 2000 the Starrett agency and all related staff and assets were transferred to another group company, First Cut (Pty) Ltd.

Alexander and Poole also trades in valves as an adjunct to bursting discs and currently represents the Weptec knife gate valve.

The company is located in Germiston and has a total staff count of five.
